Flying in
It's easiest to fly to Bilbao Airport, which is about a 40-minute drive from the wedding venue. It's a relatively small airport with flights going to London Gatwick and Amsterdam Schiphol.
However, if you want to go see other parts of Spain, you can fly to other airports and drive:
San Sebastian Airport ~ 1:30 hour drive
Santander Airport ~ 1:30 hour drive
Madrid Airport ~ 3:30 hours drive
Car rental
Public transport around Bilbao is pretty good, but if you want to get further out we recommend getting a rental car.
The wedding venue is also only accessible by car but we will be arranging a bus for Bilbao guests (and if possible other locations).
If you'd prefer more flexibility in terms of arrival / departure time for the wedding will need to have a rental car or cab.
There are a few car rental companies located at the airport terminal, but most car rental companies are located 5 minutes outside the airport and have a free shuttle service. We had very good experience with Record Go and OK Mobility.
Hotels
The easiest place to stay is Bilbao, it's about half an hour drive from the wedding venue, is close to the airport, and has loads of things to do.
We have listed a few hotels below that have offered us discounts. Of course, you're free to pick book any other place too. Make sure to book sooner than later as we noticed that the prices were already going up.
